161 high school seniors selected from 5,000 candidates.
This month, Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona announced the high school seniors selected to be the 58th class of U.S. Presidential Scholars. The White House Commission on Presidential Scholars annually honors students from each state who have shown exceptional achievements in their high school academics. More than 5,000 students qualified in 2022, and 161 individuals were selected to receive this honor.
“Throughout one of the most trying periods in our nation’s history and amid our recovery from the pandemic, our students have once again demonstrated their strength and that they have so much to contribute to our country,” said Secretary Cardona. “Our 2022 Presidential Scholars represent the best of America, and remind us that when empowered by education, there are no limits to what our young people can achieve.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Secretary Cardona to seek God’s wisdom as he heads the Department of Education.
- For U.S. educators and school boards across the nation as they determine curricula for students whose learning was hampered by the pandemic.
- For this class of Presidential Scholars as they progress into the future.
